Doorstop

Yet more new Merseyrail signs to report on. These aren't Colour Tsar enforced yellow and grey ones though, telling you there are 87 steps to the street. These are actually on the trains.

I smell lawsuit prevention. Presumably there are still more signs to come, to stop the stupid from suffering bleeding obvious injuries. "Wait until the doors are open before leaving the train." "Sit on the chairs, not on the wheels." "Wait until there's a train on the platform before attempting to alight."

Don't forget the repeated announcements on how to use escalators, and telling us if we can't use escalators to use the lifts :P

Those announcements are truly infuriating. Practically the whole journey between James St and Moorfields is taken up with them!

"Please be aware that Newton's law of gravity applies at this station."

We now get a lovely announcement from Magic Voice Lady on approach to Aigburth, cautioning us to "take care when leaving the train due to the high step down onto the platform."

On one occasion recently it wasn't working on the train I was on, but luckily the legendary Northern Line sarcastic guard was on duty and stepped in: "as Mr Pierrepoint said - mind the gap"

I've not heard of the 'Northern Line sarcastic guard' before, but he sounds great. Any more quotes?

Plenty of his infamous quotes here - http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Hilarious-Train-Driver-from-Southport-to-Hunts-Cross/153996697974308

Thanks for that link. He's a bit of a Les Dawson fanboy, isn't he?
