"Slag heap"? Do yo..."Scunny"? "Slag heap"? Do you work for the tourist board, Mark?

The problem with "PTE" is there's not really any other way to put it. Metro area has the unfortunate clash with the Tyne & Wear Metro, Merseytravel is a bit too close to Merseyrail for comfort, and Transport for Greater Manchester is just a bloody awful name. Of course, the ideal would be to put "county" but that's sadly long gone. The key part is the colour, really. If you arrive in Manchester you can just say, ok, my one day pass can take me anywhere in the purple area. You can pretty much work out what it is without the description.Scott Willisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02284196034782356946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8329761583210135212.post-56207017993833265312013-05-31T07:21:03.135+01:002013-05-31T07:21:03.135+01:00Once the Hatfield Colliery slag-heap has been move...Once the Hatfield Colliery slag-heap has been moved, there'll be a one-way every weekday early morning Northern service from Scunthorpe-Cleethorpes, so they may change the colour of that line east of Scunny from grey http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y38958/2013/10/31/advancedMarkhttp://twitter.com/pontoondocknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8329761583210135212.post-44686001190403704652013-05-30T19:56:45.166+01:002013-05-30T19:56:45.166+01:00I wonder if "PTE" actually means anythin...I wonder if "PTE" actually means anything to anyone? Wouldn't they be better off putting Merseytravel area, Metro area, Transport for Greater Manchester area etc. Wouldn't look pretty but at least people in each area (who are probably the only people who really need to know) would have a better idea of what they mean.gottagohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11152621735220067381noreply@blogger.com
