Once in the M to Go at Central station ("I hope you'll write something nice about us!"), once at the Talyllyn Railway (where I was given a free line guide and offered a ride on the footplate next time I'm down there) and, most humiliatingly of all, once by someone on Grindr. In all cases my response has been to bluster, turn bright red, and try and get the hell out of there as soon as possible.

Mike - I'll feign surprise at you getting steaming drunk in a pub. I'm sure I'll get round to doing all of Wales' train lines someday, probably around 2033.

There was still a Regional Railways logo on the outside, so I used that for my sign pic as a little tribute to the history. The stations on this line are all lovely too. I'm surprised no comments on the old Regional Railways sign at Ribblehead though. The higher we went however, the more the clouds moved in, when we got to Ribblehead, the clouds were more of less swathing the viaduct. It's quite a sight, I'm a keen photographer, and have seen many mighty structures, but Ribblehead Viaduct just took my breath away, built from the limestane that surrounds it, stunning.
Enjoying reading about your S&C trip, ace blog Scott :))Andyhttp://andrewhowe.4ormat.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8329761583210135212.post-43610486678423693512014-04-09T17:52:01.217+01:002014-04-09T17:52:01.217+01:00For a moment I thought - horror of horrors - that ...For a moment I thought - horror of horrors - that the guard had recognised you. Believe me, once you pass 40, it becomes not so much easier to embrace your inner nerd, just utterly unavoidable...

Brought back some happy memories for me, mainly of getting very drunk on Black Sheep at the Station Inn at Ribblehead.

You must ride the Heart of Wales (Shrewsbury-Swansea) line some time. Right up your tracks, as it were. Happy travels & hope to see you some time.Mike Parkerhttp://www.mikeparker.org.uknoreply@blogger.com
